Besides introducing an amazingly beautiful,
expanded handbags line and creating a new
wholesale catalog in the past few months,
Earth Divas has been busy launching its new
Divas4Divas initiative.
Divas4Divas is all about sharing and
educating people about the positive impact
fair trade has on the marketplace.
Explaining the benefits and showcasing the
beauty of fair trade products so consumers
in the US is nothing new at Earth Divas, but
this innovative new network Divas4Divas will
work to help others show others just how
important the fair-trade industry is to
artisans all over the world.
Divas4Divas plans to continue efforts to
help raise awareness of the countless
artisan groups that are managed by women, or
who employ mostly women, and work to help
women become successful business people in
the developing world. Everyone knows women
love to shop and they want to buy quality
products. More and more, female consumers
have come to understand that buying cheaply
made mass produced products is not the best
way to find quality or support proper human
labor laws. They would like their retail
purchases to make a statement, to have an
important positive impact on the person that
made the items they buy.
Thanks to growing interest in the “buy
local” business sector, more consumers
this year will make more conscientious
decisions, buy local, and spend their
money on products that support US
workers. Divas4Divas believes this is
vital. For instance, many consumers have
taken to online bazaars such as Etsy to
buy handmade products and purchase items
from a marketplace that promotes US
craftswomen.
The Divas4Divas initiative will focus in
on fair trade and continue to create a
strong bond within the fair trade
industry and educate consumers on
supporting women in the developing world
who come from very primitive
surroundings. Many of these female
artisans do not have much to speak of as
far as everyday amenities we take for
granted. They also have children to feed
and take care. Many of these children
have never even seen the inside of a
classroom or a doctor’s office.
Divas4Divas will strive to connect
consumers with products fabricated by
artisans that create wonderful
handcrafted products - like the products
you see at Earth Divas now. Unless
someone stands up and draws attention to
this topic further, these amazing
artisans will not have work to do and
will not make a living.
So for people like those at Earth Divas that are passionate about helping others
and helping to spread the word of the benefits of fair trade the new Divas4Divas
plan is a no brainer.
Every time someone in the US purchases a handcrafted, fair trade product from an
artisan, it will have a direct impact on the livelihood of the person who
created it. While there are many companies that sell fair trade products, Earth
Divas sells certified products and is know furthering their cause by creating
the Divas4Divas initiative. Earth Divas is a member of the Fair Trade
Federation. There are large retailers like Whole Foods and Vitamin Cottage that
support Earth Divas. You will even see a fair trade section at Overstock.com
these days.
The Divas4Divas goal is to showcase artisans groups and the retail stores that
support them and sell their products. Earth Divas wants to make it simple for
female consumers in the US to purchase products that help other women who do not
have the same opportunities and conveniences that most people in the US
have. Earth Divas has created one page on their website that will give consumers
the information that they need to find the items and goods that they like and
support the artisan group that made the products.
While Earth Divas is
starting this initiative from the ground up without a advertising budget, they
are going to promote this page on their blog and social media outlets such as in
Facebook and Twitter. We ask our affiliate contacts and merchants to spread this
exciting news. Go to Earth Divas and check out Divas4Divas and share a link.
Earth Diva Affiliates, showcase this initiative in your reviews. This way, we
can all (as LOHAS and fair trade collectives) work together to help others by
simply sharing a link and shopping at fair trade retailers that support fair
trade Artisans.
